Just realizing that I never shared these pictures...

Would you believe that I found a RAW AMETHYST along the shore of one of our favorite spots while beach coming over the summer!?

There I was, just strolling up and down the shore line of our favorite secluded outer beach inlet, looking for beautifully tumbled river stones to add to my Buddha garden when I spot a tiny pop of color hidden among the natural quartz and agate stones. I almost walked right by it.

At first I thought it was a piece of purple sea glass. Honestly, I’ve never seen (or heard of) purple sea glass, but anything’s possible, right?

I’ve heard tales of a beach on the West Coast where semi-precious stones litter the shore lines, but here on Long Island(?), not so much.

Being that I wasn’t 100% sure of what I’ve found, I reached out to the Rock Hounds on social media — and they all confirmed what I had speculated — it was indeed a little raw amethyst pebble.

Who knows where this little amethyst pebble originated, as this little inlet flows from the Great Peconic, which flows from the North Atlantic Ocean…
